A system is defined as a collection of co-operating components.
Unfortunately, in the real world, not all components co-operate with each
other without some persuasion! Good system design ensures that any
incompatibilities between new and existing components are identified well in
advance – and once a problem is noted, it is resolved, either by changing a
component or adding intermediate elements.
